Elementary School: Where children become learners and thrive
At Sacred Heart School, teachers collaborate with each other to create the most supportive learning environment possible. Each 1st through 5th grades homeroom teacher and specialty teacher becomes a partner in each student’s learning pathway, and helps to create a smooth educational progression through the grades. Students experience Spanish language, regular Science classes, and Art. Movement Lab supports the rapid physical development of the students, and Learning Lab hones language arts and listening skills. Students learn and thrive as they continue their educational journey.
Teachers: Our students engage with an exceptional team of teachers that includes specialty teachers in Math, Science, Spanish, Music, Physical Education and Art.
Learning Assistance Program and Teacher Aides: Our Learning Assistance and Resource Specialist works closely with teachers and parents to ensure that each child’s learning needs are addressed in a supportive and loving manner that promotes growth and achievement. Our Teacher Aides also support the work of the teachers and assist them with small group work, individualized learning programs, and day-to-day activity planning.
Movement Lab: (Grades Kindergarten through 3rd) takes place every Tuesday morning in the gym between 8:30 AM and 10 AM. During Movement Lab, students engage in a unique series of 25 different activities that target both large and small motor skills in a fun and engaging way. The program was designed by our Physical Education teacher and is run by him with the assistance of parents.
Movement Lab and Learning Lab are fun ways for parents to get involved in their child’s school experience.
