Thank you for considering Sacred Heart School for your child. We accept applications year round for admission to our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through 8th programs. Applications are available on-line. To have your child be considered for enrollment, please download the appropriate Admissions Information Packet where you will find everything you need to apply.

Step 1: Submit an On-line Application

Submit the application on-line and deliver to the school office the required documentation and $50 fee.  Please mail the documentation to:

Priority for admission is given to children of current Sacred Heart families, registered active members of Sacred Heart Parish and registered members of other neighboring Catholic parishes. Non-Catholic applicants are welcome at our school, and will be considered as space is available.

Step 1: Submit Teacher Recommendation Letter

Once the on-line form has been submitted, you will receive a Teacher Recommendation Letter (Grades Kindergarten – 8th only) by e-mail. Please download the form and submit it to your child’s teacher. The form should be returned directly and confidentially by the teacher via mail or e-mail to:

Step 3: Assessment

Once your complete application has been received by the Admissions Office, your child will be scheduled to be assessed. Prospective students are assessed on the core subjects at the level appropriate for their current age and grade. The assessment helps ensure that the student will be successful in our school and program.

Assessment Dates:

February 6, 2018 • 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM.                                     Test for incoming students grades 1 – 8. Test lasts 40 min Grades 1 – 3. Test lasts 60 min. Grades 4 – 8.

February 6, 2018 • Scheduled throughout the day.                 Test for Kindergarten students. Tests lasts 30 min.

February 5 – 15, 2018 • Scheduled throughout the day.          Test for Pre-Kindergarten students. Test lasts 20 min.

Admissions Policy

We welcome all applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of race, creed or national origin. Age Requirements

We follow the guidelines as set out by the State of California and the Diocese of San Jose. If you have any questions about the developmental needs of your child, please let us know; we’re happy to answer any questions you might have.

Pre-Kindergarten students must be 4 years old by September 1st, of the year of admittance.

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1st, of the year of admittance.

First Grade students must be 6 years old by September 1st, of the year of admittance.

Priority of Acceptance

Children who have applied by January 31, 2018 deadline and successfully tested will be considered in the priority acceptance group and admitted to Sacred Heart School in the following priority order:

  1. Children of families who have siblings currently enrolled in Sacred Heart school.

2.  Children of Sacred Heart Parish families.

3.  Children of families who are members of a Catholic parish other than Sacred Heart.

4.  Non-Catholic families.

Tuition Information

Annual Tuition Information

Annual Tuition Information for the 2017-2018 school year.  * Tuition for the 2018-2019 will be published in mid January 2018.

• Tuition can be paid in 10 month installments, twice yearly, or in a one-time payment. A discount of 2% is given to the single payment option.

• Tuition assistance is available to active Sacred Heart parishioners. Please fill-out the FACTS form before February 6, 2018 to request tuition assistance.

• “In-Parish” status allows families to pay the discounted tuition amount. In order to qualify for “In-Parish” status, a family must be Catholic, be a registered Sacred Heart parishioner, and attend weekend Mass regularly (minimum of 32 times a year.) Attendance will be recorded by weekly envelopes.

• Sibling discount is available for “In-Parish” status families.

– Two children: 10% discount

– Three and four children: 15% discount

Pre-Kindergarten is a 5 day program.

• 5 Half Days (8 AM – 11:30 AM)                                     $6,760 per child

• 2 Full Days and 3 Half Days                                          $7,540 per child

• 3 Full Days and 2 Half Days                                          $8,160 per child

• 5 Full Days (8AM-3 PM)                                                $8,850 per child

$595 Registration Fee per child. Grades Kindergarten – Grade 8 to guarantee a spot in our program.

SCRIP and Volunteer Commitments

All families are required to:

• SCRIP Program commitment of $5,000 annual SCRIP Fundraising Purchases. What is SCRIP?

• Volunteer Commitment of 30 hours per family annually (20 hours for new families) following the school’s volunteer guidelines and opportunities.
