Support Group – Catholic Identity

Charter

To provide the framework for faith formation using the reflections and teachings of Jesus Christ to foster community awareness, service to others, empathy, respect, inclusion and cooperation in our community.

Where We Focus

  • Build strong, caring relationships within the school community
  • To know God and make him known to others by providing more religious displays and more opportunities for reflection
  • Make faith real, experienced, something tangible; To restore rituals and traditions, as well as develop new ones

Current Activities

  • Weekly Liturgy – Students plan and participate in the weekly Thursday morning Liturgies.
  • Adoration Chapel – Planning mini-retreats in adoration chapel for all grades – one grade level at a time.
  • Regular Classroom Visits by Clergy – Father Gary visits quarterly with each of the classes and engages the students in age appropriate discussions about faith and service to others.
  • Music Spirit Team – Exciting new music and instrument group for students who participate in both weekly Liturgy and monthly 9:00 AM Mass.

How You Can Help

  • Weekly Liturgy – Please try to attend Mass with us on Thursday! The students love to see their parents join them at Mass.
  • Music Spirit Team – Encourage your children to participate if they are interested in either singing or if they play a musical instrument.

Committee Leadership

  • Christian Living – Our committee fosters spiritual growth and discipleship among our students. It is a model of stewardship in action. While it serves to reinforce the values of compassion and empathy that are first introduced at home and in the classroom, the projects that we sponsor attempt to show the students that they can lend a hand by giving back to the community both through volunteerism, donations, and especially through random acts of kindness.
  • One Heart Program – We are committed to becoming a “One Heart” community where everyone feels safe, secure and valued. Our words and actions support the guiding principles of the Catholic faith by accepting individual differences, including others, and sharing ideas with a positive, welcoming attitude.
