WASC Accreditation

Sacred Heart School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

What is accreditation?

"An accredited school is focused on a mission and goals for students; it is student-oriented and examines its students' performance continuously; it accepts objective evaluation from a team of outside peer professionals trained by WASC; it maintains a qualified faculty within an effectively organized school; it collaboratively assesses the quality of its educational programs on a regular basis; and it plans for the future." (WASC, 2010)

Sacred Heart School is a Catholic School in the Diocese of San Jose. Our school serves approximately 258 students in Pre-K to 8th grade. Upon graduation, our students usually go on to attend a Catholic high school. Last year, 97% of our graduates were accepted into a local Catholic high school.

Twenty-eight teachers and support staff members serve the students in a wide variety of ways. All of the teachers are credentialed by the State of California, and many hold graduate degrees.

In the spring of 2016, Sacred Heart School was awarded the maximum six-year renewal accreditation term from WASC for our Pre-K-8th grade educational program. This award reflects the high quality of instruction being offered by our teaching staff, as well as the support of the school’s administration and parents for the benefit of student learning.

Sacred Heart offers a challenging curriculum and numerous specialized programs that help to prepare children for success in high school and beyond. At Sacred Heart, our focus is developing a sense of faith, service, and academic excellence.
