The Web Site Steering Committee and the Technology committee have been actively engaged in updating and developing a comprehensive web site for the Sacred Heart Church and School.  This new and improved web site is being re-configured to address a variety of needs for both the parish and school activities in a timelier format.  The overall focus for this re-design is to streamline the information flow among the Sacred Heart community. In the early part of  '08 some students will participate in a pilot program with the new school server.  Students will be required to save their class work and evaluate the process for making a connection from their home to work on school assignments. After we are sure the server is working successfully we will set up all students with usernames and passwords.  This next phase should take place in early spring.  I know that all of you join with all of us in the spirit of making this next leap forward into Technology ’08 at Sacred Heart Church and School. 

Heartbeat Weekly has been on line since the beginning of this school year, along with many of the weekly inserts.  Please check it out – more information from the blue envelope is being added to this site regularly.

Finally, Sacred Heart has adopted the International Society for Technology Standards (ISTE) grade level standards to help promote "global learning in the digital age". The original standards were updated in 2007 which identified "several higher-order thinking skills and digital citizenship as critical for students to learn effectively for a lifetime and live productively in our emerging global society." The profiles are broken into three grade levels; PreK-2 (ages 4-8), 3-5 (ages 8-11) and 6-8 (ages 11-14).
